Ways To Get Inspired For Halloween

I absolutely love holidays, and the fact that they just give everyone an excuse to celebrate and be happy! However, this year I have been feeling especially uninspired lately. Perhaps it’s because I have so much going on in my life right now, or maybe it’s the fact that I am now in my mid-twenties and Halloween isn’t as big of a deal anymore. Whatever the reason may be, I am on a mission to change that. No matter what’s going on in my life or how old I am, I deserve a reason to stop, celebrate, and be happy! In fact, we ALL deserve that!

Therefore, I have created a list of things to inspire you to get into the Halloween spirit! If you’re feeling a bit uninspired and unmotivated, check out the list of suggestions below, and get ready to celebrate!!!

How to Get Inspired for Halloween

Ways To Get Inspired Halloween | TheDanceGrad.com

1. Think of it in a new way!

You can think of Halloween as just another day where kids get to celebrate and have fun, or you can think of it as a reason to celebrate! Use it as a day to celebrate life, and enjoy the fun festivities that come along with it. I’m not saying that you should jump around all day shouting, “yippy!” but that doesn’t mean you have to ignore it completely. Its always nice to just take a moment for celebration to make ourselves happy, however short it may be!

2. Decorating & Dressing Up!

If the house looks normal, you’re going to feel like its just any old day. If you throw up some lights and a pumpkin, then don’t you think you’ll feel a bit more like its a holiday? Don’t you think that making your house look special will make YOU feel more special? Yes! The answer is yes :)

As for dressing up, I know you’re probably thinking, “Why would I dress up if I don’t have anywhere to go, or if I’m not an 8-year-old going trick-or-treating?” And to that I say, “Because why not?” On Halloween, the only places I have to go is to work, probably to the bank, maybe to starbucks, and then also to the post office. Of course I can go to all of those places in my normal clothing, but wouldn’t be a lot more festive to throw on some cat ears and paint some whiskers on my face? I know I’d definitely feel more Halloweenie if I were dressed up as opposed to just wearing my normal clothes. I’m just saying!

3. Baking!

Baking always gets me in the mood for the holidays. No matter what holiday it is, I always feel a lot more festive if I bake something! Therefore, if you’re looking for something sweet, festive, fun, and healthy, then check out the video I made below of these AWESOME banana pumpkin muffins using no white flour & no processed sugar!

4. Showing Halloween Love!

And finally, it wouldn’t be a holiday if you didn’t spred the love! I know that Halloween isn’t the most common time of the year to send cards, but then again, why not? Like I said earlier, holidays should be a time where we all get to just take a moment and celebrate! I don’t know about you, but nothing gives me more joy and more of a reason to celebrate than giving my loved ones gifts and cards! It doesn’t even have to be anything big because as everyone knows, its the thought that counts. In fact, Treat has some awesome personalized cards specifically for Halloween. How awesome would it be if you sent out personalized Halloween cards just to let all of your loved ones know that you’re thinking of them? Not only would it bring them joy, but it would send you joy right back regardless of whether or not they reciprocate. There is nothing like the feeling of giving without expecting anything in return. It brings warmth & joy to your heart like nothing else can! :)

Although these tips are quite basic, they can be applied to basically any holiday situation. If you are feeling uninspired or not in the holiday mood, then there are a few things that you can do to make the holiday feel a bit more special for yourself and your loved ones. Even if you’re not trick-or-treating or you don’t have any special plans or parties, that doesn’t mean you have to pretend its not a holiday. Everyone deserves to be able to celebrate and be happy, so take some time out for yourself and make it happen! I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween! Don’t forget to make it special for yourself :)
